Borussia Dortmund's Julian Brandt is understood to be a possible alternative to Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard for Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal could supposedly make a move for Borussia Dortmund playmaker Julian Brandt if they fail to sign Martin Odegaard on a permanent basis this summer.

Real Madrid loanee Odegaard has made an immediate impression at the Emirates since arriving in January, but given his reported £300m release clause, the Gunners could struggle to prise him away from the Spanish capital.

Furthermore, with up to four Premier League clubs thought to be in the race for Odegaard, Mikel Arteta has been tipped to pursue deals for alternative number 10s, such as Christopher Nkunku and Emiliano Buendia.

Now, Sport Bild claim that Dortmund's Brandt is another name on Arsenal's wishlist, as the Germany international is on the chopping block at the Westfalenstadion after a below-par season.

Brandt remains under contract at Dortmund until the end of the 2023-24 season, but after struggling to perform throughout the campaign, the Black and Yellow are supposedly prepared to accept a modest figure of £22.5m for the 24-year-old this summer.

Brandt has managed two goals and one assist from 25 Bundesliga games this season, although he has started just 15 of them.
