Arsenal are reportedly still hopeful that goalkeeper Petr Cech may recover from a calf injury in time to feature in their North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal are reportedly still hopeful that goalkeeper Petr Cech will be available for Saturday's North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Cech was forced off during the second half of Arsenal's 5-1 win over Everton last time out having picked up a hamstring injury during a clash with Oumar Niasse.

Manager Arsene Wenger initially played down the injury, insisting that it was "just a kick", but Arsenal are still awaiting conclusive news on the severity of the problem.

The 35-year-old has not missed a single Premier League game this season, with back-up keeper David Ospina being limited to nine starts in the cup competitions so far this term.

The Gunners go into Saturday's match knowing that victory would see them close the gap on their rivals to just one point in the race for a top-four spot.
