James decided to throw a major spanner in the works of his own game in tonight's episode of The Circle as he admitted the truth about being a catfish.
The 47-year-old - known for appearing as Hunter in the '90s TV show Gladiators - has been masquerading as an NHS nurse called Gemma since day one of the game but took the decision to out his real identity to Andy tonight.
Suspecting that he might be the next player to be blocked unless he were to make a major move, James told Andy in The Circle chat: "I've really been thinking about what you said about integrity the other day. It's been on my mind non-stop. I feel you are my only true friend, so there's something I want to tell you.
"It's true I'm here to raise money for the NHS but I didn't want to be judged for who I really am. Most of what I've said is absolutely true, some of it a slight spin on the truth and some of it false.
"I'm putting my future in The Circle in your hands and it's up to you what you do with the information."
He continued: "Hi Andy, my name's James, I'm 47, but you may know me better as 'Hunter' from the '90s TV show Gladiators."
Andy initially reacted with disbelief but then assured Gemma/James: "I'm really pleased that you've opened up, the connection is real and I would have been pissed to find out at the end, so I'm really glad that you've chosen to tell me."
Later in the episode it was revealed that another blocking was imminent - and newcomers Pippa and Femi would have the responsibility of picking one of the next influencers.
The Circle continues Tuesday night at 10pm on Channel 4. body check tags ::
