Lukaku: 'Some Belgians want to see me fail'

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku has vowed to "have fun" at the World Cup despite claiming that "some people in my own country want to see me fail".

The 25-year-old Manchester United forward, widely renowned as one of the best players of an illustrious national roster, scored twice in the <a href="/football/belgium/world-cup/result/result-lukaku-stars-as-belgium-beat-panama_328629.html">3-0 rout</a> of Panama in Sochi on Monday.

However, Lukaku feels that many Belgium supporters do not appreciate him and are unaware of the poverty of his childhood.

"I don't know why some people in my own country want to see me fail," Lukaku wrote in the <em>Players' Tribune</em>. . . .
