Manchester City reportedly reject a £15m bid from German giants Borussia Dortmund for 18-year-old striker Liam Delap.

German outfit Borussia Dortmund had reportedly made a £15m offer to Manchester City for young forward Liam Delap that has since been rejected by the English side.

The Bundesliga giants were said to have made an approach late in the summer transfer window, but Pep Guardiola stood strong in his refusal, instead opting to keep the 18-year-old at the Etihad Stadium.

According to Football Insider, Der BVB approached the Citizens with a £15m package for Delap, but Guardiola and the Manchester City hierarchy knocked it back, as they have high hopes for the striker.

The Premier League champions then went on to tie the forward down with a new-and-improved contract, seeing him remain at the club until 2026.

Such an approach from Der BVB follows their capture of winger Jadon Sancho out of the Manchester City youth ranks in 2017, before he went on to become their record departure this summer, joining Manchester United for a fee upwards of £75m.

Numerous clubs across Europe were reportedly keen on signing Delap on a loan deal over the summer, but after an early injury, the Lancashire side have instead kept him in the ranks, and saw mark his return to action with a goal in the Under-23s' victory over Crystal Palace last Saturday.
