Netflix announces the premiere date for season two of Heartstopper and releases a new teaser clip.

Netflix has confirmed the release date for the second season of coming-of-age drama Heartstopper.

The show, which stars Joe Locke and Kit Connor as two lovestruck teens, became a huge hit when it was released last April, earning praise for its non-sensational portrayal of a young gay relationship.

Netflix responded by renewing the show for both a second and a third season, the former of which was filmed at the end of last year.

Now the streamer has announced that it will be released worldwide on Thursday, August 3, although whether all eight episodes will drop on the same day has yet to be confirmed.

To coincide with the announcement, Netflix also released a short video showing behind-the-scenes footage from the new season. Watch below:
