Louis Theroux will reportedly look into the phenomenon of boybands for his next documentary series.
According to The Sun, the three-parter will aim to uncover the behind-the-scenes machinations that go into making a hit group - and the pitfalls that can consume its members, including drink, drug and sex addiction.
The newspaper says that potential contributors to the programme include Blue's Simon Webbe, former Damage star Coree Richards and Brian Harvey of East 17.
"It's obvious Louis and his team intend to delve into the dark underbelly of bubblegum pop," a source said. "They will focus on the golden era of boy bands in the Nineties and early Noughties.
"But given the thorny topics his production company has already tackled it was never going to be a gentle, nostalgic wander."
