Veteran actor Alan Dale has joined the cast of series two of BBC Three's comedy horror drama Wreck.

The first series of the show - broadcast in 2022 - followed youngster Jamie (Oscar Kennedy), who gets a job on a cruise ship in order to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his sister Pippa (Jodie Tyack).

Once on board though, Jamie's fellow crew members start getting murdered by someone dressed mysteriously in a giant duck costume - and as the series progresses, a conspiracy unfurls.

Returning cast members for series two include Kennedy (Jamie), Tyack (Pippa), Thaddea Graham (Vivian), Anthony Rickman (Olly), Amber Grappy (Lauren), Peter Claffey (Comac), Miya Ocego (Rosie), Warren James Dunning (Beaker), Alice Nokes (Sophia), James Phoon (Hamish), Ali Hardman (Bethany May), Rory O'Neill aka Panti (Gloria Hole) and Harriet Webb (Karen).

Dale will play the mysterious Charles Deveraux, joined by fellow newcomers Buck Braithwaite as Tristan, Niamh Walsh as Devon Deveraux, Phil Martin, Orlando Norman, Shaheen Jafargholi, Sam Buttery, Greg Austin, Carolyn Bracken and Bradley Riches.

A teaser synopsis for the new series reads: "Wreck series two is set in the months after the events of series one's shocking blood-soaked conclusion.

"We rejoin Jamie, Vivian and their found family of survivors back on land, as they strike back against Velorum, the corporate murder machine that claimed Jamie's sister.

"In a daring and desperate attempt to bring the company down, the gang go undercover to infiltrate Velorum's newest venture – an exclusive 'wellness' festival for millionaires in the remote Slovenian countryside.

"Relationships fray, blood pours, and not everyone will be making it out alive. It's going to be a cleansing experience..."

The six-part second series airs on BBC Three and iPlayer later this spring. body check tags ::
