The identities of some of the cast members being axed from The Only Way Is Essex have supposedly been revealed.

Last night it was confirmed that producers have dropped a significant number of cast members from the upcoming new series of the long-running reality show in order to focus on "a smaller group" of participants.

According to The Sun, those told that they will not be returning include Harry Derbidge, Tom McDonnell, Courtney Green and Chloe Meadows.

"A lot of difficult conversations have been had in the last 24 hours," a source told the newspaper. "It's never nice to tell someone their services are no longer needed but the producers have to do what is right for the show.

"They want more time focussing on fewer, and unfortunately some of those who haven't had full, proper storylines had to go. They wish them all the best and are always here if they need the support."

Others said to be in the firing line are Harry Lee, Kelsey Stratford and Clelia Theodorou, while Chloe Brockett is still waiting to learn her fate.

Those thought to be safe include Chloe Sims, Frankie Sims, Demi Sims, Gatsby, James Lock, Amy Childs and Amber Turner.

The new series of TOWIE is due to begin on ITVBe in September. body check tags ::
