Strictly Come Dancing producers reportedly adapt their plans for the final in the wake of Robert Webb's withdrawal from the competition.

This year's Strictly Come Dancing final will reportedly feature three contestants instead of four as a result of Robert Webb's withdrawal from the competition.

The comedian announced on Wednesday that he had decided to quit the show, having struggled with the gruelling schedule following open heart surgery two years ago.

The BBC is thought to have at least one celebrity in reserve should any of the main cast need replacing, but according to The Sun, the decision has been taken not to introduce a new couple at this stage of the series.

As a result, the newspaper says, December's finale will have one fewer competitor than originally planned, with three celebrities remaining by then instead of four.

Strictly continues Saturday at 7pm on BBC One as the final 12 couples take to the dancefloor.
