The BBC invites applications for households to attend recordings of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The BBC has confirmed that the new series of Strictly Come Dancing will have live studio audiences in attendance after all.

The production has been heavily complicated by the coronavirus pandemic and as a result of necessary health and safety measures being put into place, it had been expected that the audience would be scrapped this year.

The BBC is now welcoming applications for households of four people to apply to attend the recordings, however, with successful households being allocated "cabaret tables and balcony seats".

Around 50 to 60 audience members will be allowed into the shows at Elstree Studios and will be required to wear black face masks during the recording, as well as completing paperwork for the NHS Track & Trace scheme.

The first recording will take place on Monday, October 12 - most likely to be the coupling-up show - with the live shows then taking place every Saturday evening from October 24 through to the live final on December 19.

Households can apply for tickets via the BBC's Shows and Tours website.
