Strictly Come Dancing producers reportedly deny claims that celebrities have been put off from joining the show due to the appearance fees.

Strictly Come Dancing producers are said to have denied reports that celebrities have turned the show down due to their "low" appearance fees.

The celebrity lineup for this year's series, which has been cut from 13 weeks to nine due to coronavirus, is now thought to have been finalised and will be unveiled over the next month.

A report in The Sun today claimed that stars including Michelle Keegan have snubbed the show over the appearance fees, which are thought to be no higher than £60,000.

A show source flatly denied the story, however, telling the Daily Mail: "Everyone we have offered a fee to this year have been confirmed as part of the line up, so nobody has declined appearing in the show after we've begun negotiations.

"Michelle Keegan has never been in talks with us, so she hasn't declined any fee."

The new series is due to begin on BBC One on Saturday, October 24.
