Former Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis has revealed that she is still in hospital as she continues her battle with coronavirus.

The 28-year-old was admitted to hospital a week ago after contracting COVID-19, saying at the time that she was in "so much pain".

In a new update posted to Instagram, Davis revealed that she is now taking morphine for pain management and is "getting there now" with her recovery.

"I've not been well at all, I've just had some morphine and that's really helped with the pain," she told her followers.

"I don't know what's been going on but I've been getting severe pains in my oesophagus and in my chest and, it's not indigestion because I've not ate anything.

"Even when I have a sip of water the pain is unreal, I don't know what's going on. I'm feeling very spaced out on the morphine so I'm going to go back to sleep. It's been horrific.

"I've had some fluids as I'm dehydrated - I'll keep you all posted."

Davis is said not to have been vaccinated against coronavirus before her infection due to an underlying health condition. body check tags ::
