Prince Philip has been transferred to St Bartholomew's Hospital in London for further testing on a heart condition, it has been announced.

The 99-year-old was admitted to the private King Edward VII facility almost two weeks ago after falling unwell with what has since been confirmed as an infection.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace revealed that he has now been moved three miles to St Bart's for continued treatment on the infection as well as tests for a heart condition.

"The Duke of Edinburgh was today transferred from King Edward VII's Hospital to St Bartholomew's Hospital where doctors will continue to treat him for an infection, as well as undertake testing and observation for a pre-existing heart condition," the spokesperson said.

"The Duke remains comfortable and is responding to treatment but is expected to remain in hospital until at least the end of the week."

Philip - already the longest-lived male member of the Royal Family in history - stepped down from official duty in 2017. body check tags ::
