The BBC is reportedly considering whether to ditch its daily BBC Two politics show Politics Live.

The BBC is reportedly considering axing its daily politics show Politics Live as part of its latest round of cost-cutting measures.

The programme was introduced in 2018 as a replacement for The Daily Politics and typically airs on BBC Two for 45 minutes on weekday lunchtimes, with an extended edition on Wednesdays to cover Prime Ministers' Questions.

When the coronavirus lockdown began in March the show was dropped from the schedules but returned last month with Jo Coburn presenting, albeit on Wednesdays only.

According to Broadcast, the show is now "under review", with the BBC considering keeping it as once a week or axing it altogether in an effort to save money.

The news comes after Politics Live presenter Andrew Neil revealed that he is in the dark about his future with the BBC.
