Take That, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie are among the first swathe of acts announced for King Charles's Coronation Concert on May 7.
A full Bank Holiday weekend of celebrations and events is planned to mark the coronation of Charles - and his wife Camilla as Queen consort - on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, with a huge concert taking place on the grounds of Windsor Castle the following day.
Take That - currently operating as a trio of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald - as well as Perry and Richie will be joined on the bill by classical superstars Andrea Bocelli and Sir Bryn Terfel, who will perform a special duet on the day.
Also appearing is London singer-songwriter Freya Ridings, who will team up with classical soul pianist Alexis Ffrench for a performance backed by a 70-piece orchestra and the house band.
Perry, an ambassador for The King's charity The British Asian Trust, said: "I am excited to be performing at the Coronation Concert, and helping to shine a further light on the British Asian Trust's Children's Protection Fund, whose work includes on-ground initiatives to fundraising, with the aim to find solutions to child trafficking."
Charlotte Moore, the BBC's chief content officer, said: "We are bringing the nation together for this once in a generation occasion, broadcast exclusively across the BBC live from Windsor Castle.
"We have a world-class lineup of performers to look forward to for what promises to be a very special night of celebration and entertainment."
A number of top British stars - including Adele, Ed Sheeran and Robbie Williams - were said to have been approached to take part but had to decline due to pre-existing gigs, although the BBC intends to announce further big-name performers for the bill in the coming days. body check tags ::
