Kate Bush is on course to earn at least £1 million following the renaissance of her song 'Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)'.

The track - first released in 1985 - has enjoyed huge popularity around the globe in recent weeks after it was featured during an emotive scene on Netflix's Stranger Things.

In the UK, the song went on to top the charts - in the process setting a record for the longest time for a song to reach number one after its initial release - while it has also hit the top spot in seven other countries and charted in the top five in the US.

"Kate is on course to bank a seven-figure sum because of its resurgence," an industry source told The Sun.

"She owns all of the publishing and licensing rights, and she wrote it – so nearly all the cash is going to her.

"Given the traction of the song, Kate will easily be pulling in £250,000 a week and, if it keeps on the way it is, she'll be laughing all the way to the bank."

The song is also being streamed at least one million times a day on Spotify, where it has now exceeded 270 million lifetime plays. body check tags ::
