Organisers of the Oscars announce that they will give nominees the option of attending a London venue if they are unable to make it to Los Angeles.

Organisers of this year's Academy Awards have confirmed that the ceremony will be broadcast in part from London in order to enable more nominees to attend in person.

This year's event has been delayed by two months due to coronavirus and will take place on Sunday, April 25 in an open-air setting at Grand Union Station in Los Angeles.

Earlier this month organisers informed nominees that the Oscars would remain an in-person event, ruling out Zoom acceptance speeches that have become commonplace over the last 12 months.

Updating nominees on plans in a conference call, co-producer Stacey Sher said: "London is 100% confirmed. We're in negotiations with the location. We cannot share it with you yet."

British stars once again form a sizeable contingent of this year's nominees, with the likes of Riz Ahmed, Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman and Carey Mulligan among those up for awards.
