Chris Pine has admitted that he has been left 'frustrated' by the lack of updates on a fourth Star Trek movie.
The actor took on the iconic role of Captain Kirk for JJ Abrams's 2009 reboot of the franchise, reprising the part in 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness and 2016's Star Trek Beyond.
A fourth movie has been in development since 2015, although the project has been beset by multiple changes of writer and director - and recently Paramount removed the film from its planned release schedule.
Speaking to Esquire, Pine revealed that he remains in the dark about the fourth film, adding that he "feels like it's cursed".
"I don't know anything," he said. "In Star Trek land, the actors are usually the last people to find out anything. I know costume designers that have read scripts before the actors."
He continued: "I would say it's frustrating. It doesn't really foster the greatest sense of partnership, but it's how it's always been.
"I love the character. I love the people. I love the franchise. But to try to change the system in which things are created - I just can't do it. I don't have the energy."
The three movies in the rebooted franchise accumulated $1.1 billion (£918m) at the global box office off a combined production budget of around $525m (£438m). body check tags ::
