Young MasterChef will return for a second series on BBC Three next year, it has been confirmed.
The spinoff of the long-running cookery show launched in January with amateur cooks aged 18 to 25 as the contestants.
Online cookery star Poppy O'Toole will be back to judge the second series and will be joined by Big Has, who takes over from Kerth Gumbs.
The 6ft 6in chef is a graduate of Jamie Oliver's Fifteen programme and became renowned during the COVID lockdowns for his popular Sunday Sessions series on YouTube.
"I can't quite believe I'm going to be an actual MasterChef judge," Big Has said in a statement. "I've had so much respect for MasterChef over the years and to become part of food TV history blows my mind. I may not believe it until step I front of the cameras with Poppy.
"Getting to see the freshest cooking talent and taste some amazing dishes is a dream and I can't wait to discover all the incredible foodies hiding in plain sight!"
The first series of the format aired as ten 30-minute episodes but the second series - expected to air at the start of 2024 - will run to five hour-long episodes. body check tags ::
