Disney announces a series of delays for its upcoming release slate, including another six-month delay for Marvel movie Black Widow.

Disney has announced that the release of Black Widow has been pushed back by six months as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.

The cinema industry has been severely affected by COVID-19, and although some major movies - including Christopher Nolan's Tenet - were released this summer, other new releases are now being postponed as a second wave of the virus sweeps around the globe.

Black Widow, which sees Scarlett Johansson reprise her role as Natasha Romanoff in the first film of MCU's Phase Four, was originally meant to be released in May but that date was shunted to November and it has now been further delayed until May 7, 2021.

Another Marvel movie, Eternals, has also been delayed by a year from the original plans and will now come out on November 5, 2021.

West Side Story - a remake from Steven Spielberg - is pushed from this December to December 10, 2021, while new Poirot movie Death on the Nile has a relatively-modest delay of two months to December 18, 2020.
