The continued popularity of video gaming shows no signs of slowing down, and with so many great titles slated for release in 2023, it's no surprise that gamers are getting excited.

The continued popularity of video gaming shows no signs of slowing down, and with so many great titles slated for release in 2023, it's no surprise that gamers are getting excited.

There are long-awaited sequels and brand-new titles to look forward to, as the PS 5 and Xbox hope to finally show off their graphically powerful gaming credentials. There's also plenty for Nintendo switch, mobile and pc gamers to get excited about too, in what promises to be a bumper year of releases.
Here are the titles we're really looking to getting our hands on in 2023:

Forspoken

Developer: Luminous Production
Platform: PS5, PC
Release date: January 24, 2023
Forspoken is the first adventure from the Luminous Production's, and follows the story of New York teenager Frey Holland who finds herself in the hostile, magical world of Athia. In what is a great advert for parkour, Frey expertly navigates the city using her athletic prowess and magic abilities.
The graphics are stunning and with established writers such as Gary Whitta, Alison Rhymer, Todd Stashwich, and Amy Hennig on board, expect a compelling, exciting storyline too.

Dead Space Remake

Developer: Electronic Arts
Platform: PS5, Xbox Series X, PC
Release date: January 27, 2023
A remake of the much-loved 2008 space horror shooter, this faithful recreation will please fans of the previous incarnation. Refitted with high-end graphics and spine tingling sound effects, the game billed as the best horror title ever, may just be better than ever before.

First announced way back in July 2020, Forza Motorsport will be dropping the eighth game of the series this Spring. And fans of the ultra-realistic racing sim can look forward to some major upgrades on previous versions.

The developers have looked to utilise the processing power of the Xbox and overhauled the physics, adding new features such as advanced car damage, ray tracing, and a realistic day and night time cycle.

Already one of the best racing sims around, Forza Motorsport looks set to push the boundaries of the car racing sim beyond anything we've ever seen before.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

The continuation of Cal Kestis's story, this title is a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The single player narrative driven game, follows Cal, now a powerful Jedi Knight, as he fights to save the universe from the darkness of Order 66.

A third person action-adventure game developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, players can discover new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, each with their own unique challenges, and enemies. Can you must master the new skills and abilities required to survive?

Street Fighter 6

Developer Capcom claim that in Street Fighter 6, "A new era for fighting games begins in 2023. The evolution of fighting games starts with our traditional Fighting Ground, and then we're turning the genre on its head with World Tour and Battle Hub"

There's improved graphics, a new art style, and new characters, including supermodel judoka Manon, fighting Chinese dancer Jamie, and muscle woman Marisa. Capcom have also developed a new combat system, with controls that promise to allow players to better enjoy fights that match their skill level.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 12th, 2023. Yes, six years after the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which blew gamers away and sold millions of copies, its long-awaited sequel is expected to arrive in May.

The game has been expanded to include the skies above the vast lands of Hyrule, and although details remain scarce ahead of launch, players can expect another brilliant instalment of the Zelda series.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2

The third game in Marvel's Spider-Man series follows on from Marvel's Spider-Man (2018) as well as the spin-off title, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). That means it will feature both Spider-Man and Miles Morales in a brand-new adventure.

The critically acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man franchise has released a teaser trailer that has had fans are already clamouring to get hold of it. Developer Insomniac Games have big shoes to fill after the success of the previous Spider man titles, but all the signs point to another award-winning title smash hit.

Whatever your gaming taste, 2023 looks set to deliver something for everyone.
