Kalush Orchestra, the representatives for Ukraine at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, have revealed that they will pre-record their performance for the semi-final and final.
The rap group were selected to represent their country last month after the initial choice, Alina Pash, was disqualified due to controversy over a trip she took to Crimea.
Shortly afterwards Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine and due to the circumstances, Kalush Orchestra have now decided not to attend Eurovision - to be held in Turin in May - in person.
They said on social media: "Despite the fighting, the KALUSH Orchestra will record their performance in a safe place, which will be sent to the organizers of the song contest, and in case of our victory over the occupiers by May, our delegation will go to Italy and sing live all over Europe!"
Russia, as well as its ally Belarus, have been kicked out of Eurovision this year due to the hostilities.
