Bradley Riches has confirmed that he will be playing a new Barton sibling in Emmerdale.
The Heartstopper actor was revealed to be joining the cast of the soap earlier this year but details of his character have been kept under wraps until now.
Speaking to Attitude magazine, Riches revealed that he will be playing a young man called Lewis, the younger brother of Ross (Michael Parr) whom he has never met.
"I play Lewis Barton," he said. "He's studying at Leeds University and related to Ross.
"He has known about his brother for a while, but he finally builds up the courage to reach out to him, see if they get along and ask questions about his family."
The 23-year-old - also known for being a housemate on last year's Celebrity Big Brother - continued: "I came to Leeds for a meeting for a different character: Dylan, who is in April's storyline. But then the schedule didn't work, and I thought I'd missed the opportunity.
"I felt like it was meant to be. The personality of the character fits me so much better."
Lewis is expected to make his first on-screen appearance next month. body check tags ::
