Milly Zero has confirmed that she is leaving her role as Dotty Cotton on EastEnders after three-and-a-half years.
The character is the granddaughter of Dot Cotton - played by the late legend June Brown - whose funeral scenes will air on the soap in December.
It is currently unknown whether Dotty's exit will be related to the death of her gran, and indeed if Dot's significant inheritance will play a part, but Zero promised that she will 'go out with a bang'.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "After three and a half years, I have decided my journey with the icon that is Dotty Cotton has come to an end.
"I can't tell you how life changing and incredible my time at EastEnders has been, and how much I am going to miss it, but I am ready for new challenges now.
"Thank you to everyone that made it so special, I have made friends for life, learnt huge amounts and made memories to last a lifetime.
"I can't wait for you all to watch her exit, she goes out with a bang!"
The storyline is expected to play out before the end of the year. body check tags ::
