Brian Conley has promised that 'all hell will break loose' in EastEnders when his character Rocky's wife Jo (Vicki Michelle) arrives in Walford later this week.

Two years on from his arrival, the character has now built a life for himself in E20 and is engaged to Square stalwart Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).

In Monday's episode, it was revealed that Rocky has been hiding a secret - he got married to a woman named Jo 25 years ago and has not yet got divorced - but before too long the truth will come out as Jo shows up and makes a beeline for Kathy's house.

"He's devastated but once again he's going to try and get around it in some way," Conley said of Jo's arrival.

"He tries to diffuse things with comedy, to try and make things all wonderful and fluffy, but he hates having to confront the truth. Once he sees Jo arrive, he knows that's it.

"When Jo turns up on Kathy's doorstep, Rocky's not there at first as he's at the car lot, so he watches on in horror as Jo prepares to greet Kathy at the door.

"With Rocky knowing what Jo can be like, he knows that all hell is going to break loose."

On working with 'Allo 'Allo! legend Michelle, he continued: "It was wonderful. When I first heard that she was going to play my wife, I was so chuffed.

"I've known Vicki for many years and I've met her at many charity functions and events.

"Because her background is comedy, I thought her timing was brilliant – she was perfect. It was lovely to catch up with her, and we all got on so well when we we're filming these bits. It was really fun."

EastEnders continues Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
