Barbara Windsor's widow Scott Mitchell has revealed that he is in a relationship with former EastEnders star Tanya Franks.
Actress Windsor - the iconic Peggy Mitchell in the BBC soap - met Mitchell, 60, in 1993 and they remained in a relationship until her death in 2020 at the age of 83 following a battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Three years on, Mitchell has now found love again with Franks, who played Rainie Cross on EE from 2007 until she made a permanent departure last year.
"His and Barbara's friends are delighted he's found someone to share his life with," a source told The Sun.
"It's fairly early days but Scott is cautiously now looking forward to the future.
"They made the decision to update their wider circles while on holiday in Greece and everyone was over the moon.
"There is so much friendship and respect between them both and they're taking things slowly."
Mitchell has remained a keen advocate for Alzheimer's-related concerns and has continued to campaign to raise funds to ultimately discover a cure. body check tags ::
