Sky Sports is reportedly considering bidding for fewer games in the latest round of bidding for rights to the EFL.

The broadcaster has been the primary home for EFL competitions in the UK - including the Championship, League One, League Two, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy - for some time and has a current deal running to the end of next season.

Earlier this month the EFL unveiled ambitious plans to make every single league and cup game available for domestic broadcast, but according to The Sun, Sky may head in the opposite direction and move for fewer games.

The newspaper says that the decision is being driven by poor ratings for its live Championship games this season, with the top-rated game - the season opener between Huddersfield Town and Burnley - mustering just 600,000 viewers.

Bids for the next cycle of rights, which starts with the 2024-25 season, must be submitted to the EFL by November 21.
