Sky Sports is reportedly in line to regain most of the rights to the ATP and WTA tours from the 2024 season.

For the last four years Amazon's Prime Video service has been the UK home for most tennis broadcasting and has a deal to show ATP and WTA until the end of 2023.

According to The Times, however, Amazon has decided not to renew the rights for 2024 and is choosing instead to focus on its coverage of the Premier League - as well as the Champions League, for which it gains 17 matches a season from 2024-25.

The newspaper says that the streamer's decision has paved the way for Sky to swoop for the rights, which are estimated to be worth in excess of £15m a year - roughly the equivalent amount that Sky spends on the rights to just two Premier League matches.

The package includes the finals of both tours, ATP1000 events such as Miami, Indian Wells and Paris, as well as 500 and 250-level events, amounting to thousands of hours of live tennis every year.

If the deal goes ahead, The Times speculates that Sky would launch a new Sky Sports Tennis channel, complementing existing sport-specific channels such as Sky Sports Golf, Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports F1. body check tags ::
