Sky is reportedly poised to sign a new agreement with the SPFL keeping coverage of Scottish football with Sky Sports until 2029.

The current deal runs until the end of the 2024-25 campaign and enables Sky to show up to 48 games live per season, although the broadcaster has failed to get near that limit over the last two seasons.

According to The Guardian, the proposed new deal, worth £29.5m a year, extends to the end of 2028-29 and brings with it a new limit of 60 live games per season but includes a minimum commitment of 42.

The 60-match arrangement would kick in during the final year of the current contract - 2024-25 - and Sky also have the option of adding extra 10-match bundles for an agreed cost of £4m.

From 2024-25 clubs will also be permitted to sell five home games a year, not selected for broadcast by Sky, to fans online as an additional source of generating revenue.

The SPFL clubs are believed to be in the process of voting on whether to accept the new terms. body check tags ::
