Paramount+ will launch in the UK and Ireland on June 22, it has been revealed today.

The streaming service - from Channel 5 and MTV owner Paramount Global - promises to offer over 8,000 hours of content from across the company's extensive portfolio at launch.

The lineup will include the Star Trek universe, South Park and Yellowstone, Paramount+ originals - including UK commissions - and films such as Scream 5 and Grease.

The service will come at a price point of £6.99 a month or £69.90 per year, although subscribers to Sky Cinema on Sky Q will get access for free.

As well as launching on Sky, Paramount+ will also be available via Apple, Amazon, Google, Roku and Samsung, with other platforms to follow at a later date.

Sky's other European markets - Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy - will gain the service in the second half of the year, while it will also expand to France later this year, South Korea in June and India in 2023.
