GB News has announced the launch of three new shows as part of a shakeup of its weekday lineup.

Patrick Christys will move from Drivetime to primetime, hosting his own show, Patrick Christys Tonight, from 9pm to 11pm on weekdays - essentially replacing Dan Wootton, who was suspended from the channel earlier this autumn.

Martin Daubney will take over Christys's old 3pm to 6pm slot for the time being, with an announcement on a permanent replacement expected shortly.

Tom Harwood and Emily Carver will team up for Good Afternoon Britain from midday to 3pm on weekdays. Mark Longhurst and Pip Tomson have presented the slot for the last few months and their futures remain unclear.

Meanwhile, Mark Dolan will host a new show called Friday Night Live in the 8pm hour on Friday - replacing Laurence Fox - in addition to his show on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Elsewhere, Esther McVey has resigned from her presenting role on the channel alongside MP husband Philip Davies in order to take up a new role in Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's government.

"This was far from an easy decision for me to make as it means relinquishing my role on GB News - in particular presenting a show I love with Phil," she said in a statement.

"I don't think it is a coincidence that when the Prime Minister looked for a champion for common sense, he selected someone from GB News - the home for common sense. I will miss working with the fantastic team of people there and engaging with the loyal viewers who are the salty of the earth of the country. I will do all I can to ensure I don't let any of you down."

The new schedule launches next Monday, November 20. body check tags ::
