BBC Sounds has launched in the Sonos app, making thousands of hours of audio content and live radio streams available to users of the service.

The move means that BBC content can now be played through Sonos smart speakers and devices, with BBC account integration allowing users to access personalised recommendations, subscribe to podcasts and use the 'continue listening' feature.

"We want BBC Sounds to be available wherever and whenever people want to listen, and this is another way to make sure people can enjoy our audio however they choose," said BBC Sounds controller Jonathan Wall.

"From firm favourites to new discoveries, we're giving our listeners even easier access to our brilliant selection of radio, music mixes and podcasts."

BBC Sounds can be previewed in the Sonos app from today, with an official release following in the coming weeks.
