The BBC will broadcast a documentary looking back at the first ever series of Celebrity Big Brother, which aired in 2001.

The BBC has announced a one-off documentary looking back at the first ever series of Celebrity Big Brother, which was staged in aid of Comic Relief in 2001.

The show aired jointly on Channel 4 and BBC One over eight days in March 2001, months after the first ever edition of Big Brother became a cultural phenomenon.

Six celebrities - Jack Dee, Claire Sweeney, Vanessa Feltz, Keith Duffy, Anthea Turner and Chris Eubank - took part in the show, which featured Feltz's memorable meltdown and eventual winner Dee's great escape from the compound.

In the programme, When Comic Relief Did Big Brother (And things really kicked off!), the former housemates - except for Eubank - will look back and reflect on their experience some 22 years on.

When Comic Relief Did Big Brother will air on Comic Relief night on Friday, March 17 at 10pm on BBC Two.

Other specials for Comic Relief night include a sketch themed around The Traitors featuring Claudia Winkleman, Dame Mary Berry, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, a special edition of Ghosts with Kylie Minogue and a Eurovision "auditions" parody with Graham Norton, Lulu and Sam Ryder. body check tags ::
