Dina Asher-Smith beaten by Daryll Neita in UK Championships 100m final

Former 100m champion Dina Asher-Smith was knocked off her perch by Daryll Neita at the 2022 UK Athletics Championships in Manchester.

The 26-year-old - who recently confirmed that she would be competing in front of the home crowd at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games - was forced to settle for silver on the day.

Asher-Smith flew out of the blocks before Neita - who took Tokyo Olympic bronze alongside her compatriot in the 4x100m relay - responded to win with a time of 10.8 seconds in windy conditions.

Asher-Smith finished with a time of 10.87 seconds to clinch the silver medal, with Imani Lansiquot (11.03) . . .
